Beautiful Lighting For Your Makeup Vanity

Published by at 1:51 pm under Uncategorized

When you decide to get a makeup vanity, you know you’re making a decision that you’re going to be happy with.  Having a makeup table is a wonderful thing for a woman.  It gives you a special place to start off the day, putting your makeup on in your own private area, where you have everything arranged just so, and you don’t have to worry about anyone bothering you.

Choosing the lighting is a very important aspect of the experience you’ll be having.  Lighting is very powerful, as it can greatly affect the mood of a room.   It is even more important in a vanity setting because you will be putting on your makeup there and you want to make sure that you will be seeing yourself the way everyone else will be seeing you.  If you can’t see well, you might end up putting your makeup on too heavily, or you might end up missing some pimples or other small blemishes that really ought to be covered up.

At the same time that you want to have sufficient lighting, you don’t want it to be glaring.  Make sure to choose incandescent light bulbs over fluorescent ones.  While the latter might be more energy efficient and use less electricity, they will not provide the right mood, and they will also show you in the worst light possible.  Place a corner makeup vanity in a location that will get adequate light if it doesn’t have its own light bulbs on it.

When choosing a lighting setup, your best bet is to have one light fixture that sweeps over the top of the mirror and two wall sconces on either side.  Choose frosted glass light shades for a softer, more romantic look.  This way you will have elegant lighting that comes from all sides, so no one part of your face will be overpowered by shadows.

With the right lighting, your vanity table will be a place that you can relax in everyday as you make yourself look your best.
