To activate flea bombs safely, some preparations should be made and some facts should be considered. One of the main precautions is that the structure should be vacated three to four hours after activation. For those that would like to learn how to get rid of fleas, the flea bomb is very effective; however, there are some questions about the administration of flea bombs.

Pros

Flea bombs that work do accomplish the task of reducing the number of fleas in a structure. The bombs kill most fleas and most of them include a growth inhibitor that stops the reproduction cycle of fleas that survive for up to two hundred days. A single bomb is unlikely to be successful at ridding the structure of fleas; a bomb must be activated in each room. They have the added benefit of killing insects other than fleas.

Cons

Flea bombs that work contain insecticides that can be harmful to people and animals. This is the reason for the explicit warnings on the package. If the flea bomb is activated where vehicles are stored, all of the vehicles must be removed. When returning to the structure, after the windows have been opened, counter tops must be washed, and all pet and human bedding must be laundered.

Proper Use

All carpets, couches, and other furniture should be vacuumed before the use of flea bombs, and pets should be given a flea bath. Counter tops should be cleared of all appliances and coffee makers. Any fish tanks or plants should be covered, and all bedding should be removed. With newspapers or drop clothes underneath to prevent damage to the floor, the bomb should be placed in the center of the room, and all windows should be closed. The bomb should be activated, and the structure should be vacated immediately. The structure should not be entered for at least three hours.

Upon return, and after the windows have been opened, the flea bomb should be wrapped in newspaper and disposed of properly. After the counter tops and exposed surfaces have been washed, any absorbent materials should be vacuumed again. An insecticide can be sprayed in the corners or other remote areas, and to insure that the fleas do not return, flea repellent should be applied to pets. An insect repellent should be applied to areas outside of the structure, as well.

Flea bombs will eliminate most fleas and other insects where they are activated properly. Garden centers have numerous products for eliminating fleas. Products that include ingredients that inhibit insect growth are preferred. By choosing the proper products and following all recommendation on the packaging, fleas can be eliminated safely and easily.

Many home owners like nothing more than to relax in the garden, only to find that they are constantly invaded by unwanted pests. But a motion sensor sprinkler can put a stop to this very quickly. In fact more and more owners are now realizing just how efficient motion detector sprinklers like the Contech CRO101 are for quickly and humanely getting rid of pests.

We are able to set up these systems very quickly indeed and should find that in only a few days the problem pests will have moved on. They work in a very simple yet effective way. We simply set up the motion sensor sprinkler to cover a very large area. Then as soon as it senses that there is any movement in the garden they turn on. Mostly they send out a general spray in the direction of the movement as well as a more targeted spray to the direct area.

This will soak the intruder and it should run off straight away. This makes it one of the most humane way to quickly and effectively get rid of any pest in the garden that may be causing problems, since it doesn’t hurt the animals at all. In no time at all we can get back to enjoying the peace and quiet in the garden without having to jump up to scare off pests.

No more worrying about the borders being dug up and no more worrying about the problems of animals using our garden as if it is their own private toilet area. We should be able to get rid of the problem as soon as they have had a few soakings.

If you are totally fed up with this nuisance and want a way to stop it that is totally humane then these motion detector sprinkler systems are about he best possible solution. They are very inexpensive at about fifty dollars so are certainly well worth looking into.

Mosquitoes in your home can be a big problem. If you live near a creek or in an area with a lot of plants, chances are, you’ll have to deal with major mosquito problems. Mosquitoes also breed on dark, dirty areas where there are piles of decomposing organic matter. If your home is in any of these locations, you may be wondering how to get rid of mosquitoes in the house. Unlike other pests which can be eliminated using non-chemical pesticides, mosquitoes need to be killed with melathione. Since this is a chemical, you may want to hire a professional to apply this for you. If you do attempt to do it on your own, you will need the chemical, a pump-up sprayer, a mask or a respirator, and rubber gloves.

Mosquitoes are very active in the early mornings and late evenings. This means that the best way to spray malathione in your home is in the afternoon, while these insects are resting. Spray the weeds and bushes outdoors, and do not skimp on the dosage. You have to make sure that you’re wearing a mask or a respirator and gloves when you do this, though. The house should also be empty when you’re applying the chemical. Concentrated amounts of malathione can be highly toxic to humans as well. After a day or so, spray the chemical again, this time to attack the hatchlings which may not have been eliminated during your first spray.

Here is a final word of caution:

You also have to make sure that the area remains uninhabitable to mosquitoes if you don’t want them to return quickly. These blood suckers breed on stagnant water, so don’t leave standing water lying around. Install drains if there are surfaces in your home that are prone to flooding. Dispose of stacks of newspapers and garbage as well. Usually, pack-rats attract mosquitoes. If you keep your home clean and free from things that you don’t need, you should prevent mosquitoes from invading your home.

Rat Poison is classified as a rodenticide, and it will consist usually of a chemical makeup used to kill rodents or species of the rodent family. It is made so that one dose will kill. It is sometimes a hit and miss tactic to try to kill a rat with poison since they are scavengers. A rat is also a very smart animal and the normal way they eat is to take a little bit and then wait. If they find that what they are eating does not hurt them then they will eat more.

A good and effective rat poison must not have any smell or taste. It must have a high enough concentration to kill and it should have a slow or delayed kill time. One of the poisons used to kill rats is a zinc phosphate. This works when it gets to the digestive system of the rat. The phosphate will react with the acid in the rats stomach where it will release a toxic gas. Death of the rat will usually occurs within twenty-four to seventy- two hours after the rat eats the bait. The zinc phosphate unlike other poisons does have a very distictive odor but this odor seems to attract the rat rather than warning it.

There are also, what are called anti- coagulant poisons. These will affect that rats ability to form blood clots. and will slowly destroy very small veins in the rats body causing internal bleeding which will kill the rat. This method will take about a week or two for it to work. The favorable advantage of this poison is that by the onset of death the other rats will not make any connection between the death and the poison.

If the rats do become shy of the bait you are using, you may use a non toxic bait for a few days until they are no longer wary of the bait.

Rats are one guest most people hope to never have in their homes. They not only eat your food and defecate on all surfaces, but they also carry germs and diseases. They have been blamed for the spread of Classic Swine Fever, Foot-and-mouth diseases and the Black Plague. So what do you do if you find one of these critters? A rat trap can rid your home of them and with all the options you can find the one that is best for your needs.

The traditional Snap Trap is the cheapest way to go. A form of bait is set on a trip and when the rat steps on to grab the bait a spring loaded bar snaps down, killing the rat. This trap is effective most of the time, however some rats can steal the bait without tripping the bar.
Rat Zappers are boxes that use batteries and zap or electrocute the rat when it enters the box. It kills the rat quicker than the snap trap and is easier to clean up than the traditional Snap Trap. It is a little more expensive than the Snap Trap but it is reusable.
Glue boards are cheap and effective, however, they can be difficult to deal with. They are sticky strips that you place wherever the rats are going in your home and when they walk across the surface their feet are glued to the paper. Generally you will be left with cleaning up a rat that is not yet dead and they are only good for one use.
Live Traps are very popular ways of trapping rats and or mice. They are boxes that rats enter but cannot exit. They do not harm or kill the rats, which makes clean up very easy. You simply set the rat free and you can reuse the trap again and again.
Times have changed and we are no longer stuck with just one option, there are many different rat traps to consider when you need to rid your home of unwanted rodents. Think carefully about cleanup and cost and you will be able to find the perfect trap for your needs.
