To activate flea bombs safely, some preparations should be made and some facts should be considered. One of the main precautions is that the structure should be vacated three to four hours after activation. For those that would like to learn how to get rid of fleas, the flea bomb is very effective; however, there are some questions about the administration of flea bombs.

Pros

Flea bombs that work do accomplish the task of reducing the number of fleas in a structure. The bombs kill most fleas and most of them include a growth inhibitor that stops the reproduction cycle of fleas that survive for up to two hundred days. A single bomb is unlikely to be successful at ridding the structure of fleas; a bomb must be activated in each room. They have the added benefit of killing insects other than fleas.

Cons

Flea bombs that work contain insecticides that can be harmful to people and animals. This is the reason for the explicit warnings on the package. If the flea bomb is activated where vehicles are stored, all of the vehicles must be removed. When returning to the structure, after the windows have been opened, counter tops must be washed, and all pet and human bedding must be laundered.

Proper Use

All carpets, couches, and other furniture should be vacuumed before the use of flea bombs, and pets should be given a flea bath. Counter tops should be cleared of all appliances and coffee makers. Any fish tanks or plants should be covered, and all bedding should be removed. With newspapers or drop clothes underneath to prevent damage to the floor, the bomb should be placed in the center of the room, and all windows should be closed. The bomb should be activated, and the structure should be vacated immediately. The structure should not be entered for at least three hours.

Upon return, and after the windows have been opened, the flea bomb should be wrapped in newspaper and disposed of properly. After the counter tops and exposed surfaces have been washed, any absorbent materials should be vacuumed again. An insecticide can be sprayed in the corners or other remote areas, and to insure that the fleas do not return, flea repellent should be applied to pets. An insect repellent should be applied to areas outside of the structure, as well.

Flea bombs will eliminate most fleas and other insects where they are activated properly. Garden centers have numerous products for eliminating fleas. Products that include ingredients that inhibit insect growth are preferred. By choosing the proper products and following all recommendation on the packaging, fleas can be eliminated safely and easily.

The cheapest way to expand your living space is always going to be an attic conversion. There is much less work involved so the job is done faster and for less money. Your attic conversion will give you a whole extra floor to your house for a lower cost than a one room brick built ground level extension.

This is the reason why every roofline of big towns and cities shows evidence of loft extensions, with dormer windows along the top of every building. It is the only to way to extend in an urban area, where space is just not available for a ground floor extension.

Most people have an attic that is full of old junk, which should have been thrown away years ago. It is also an excellent option for anyone who is trying to reduce their carbon footprint because it uses many fewer energy-rich components than a brick extension does.

Attic conversions involve a lot more than nailing down a few flooring panels and should be left to professionals. These guys will know whether you need new joists or roof supports. They will be expert at applying for planning permission and will give you a guarantee of their work when it is complete. You want your loft conversion to add to the value of your house, not to reduce it, which a DIY one does. Attic conversion cost can run from very affordable for DIY jobs to quite expensive.

Many older properties where the owners will be considering extending upwards will have sash windows. You can now buy UPVC sash windows that slide, just like the original ones did in their hey day.

You can use your loft for anything from extra bedrooms for your growing family to a self-contained apartment for a young couple and their baby. You can easily include a bathroom and heating in your plans to make sure your loft attic conversion is fully usable.

Our home is probably one of the biggest investments that we will ever make in our lifetime. This is why we should be able to balance out the cost of roofing jobs as well as the quality of labor and materials that we intend to use for our homes. While residential roofing jobs are typically more affordable than having it done for commercial purposes, you should still be able to find the right construction company that will do it for you. Here’s a step by step guide in making sure that you are able to create the right estimate on how to price a roofing job.

Step 1: Do your research.

Since there are a lot of roofing businesses that will offer you attractive marketing strategies and the like, you want to make sure that you are able to conduct a significant amount of research before making a decision. There are several contractors in the market today that will offer you affordable prices but with questionable quality. You also want to see what the competition has to offer, so make sure that the company you choose will achieve the right balance between price, durability and the right labor costs. It is also a good idea to find a roofing company that is experienced in the type of roof you have. Some companies specialize in quick mobile home roof repair, and may not be equipped to handle a large home roof repair.

Step 2: Get to know the company.

Once you are able to narrow it down to a few choices, the next thing that you need to do is sit with your contractor and provide them a good description of what you want. You can be very flexible in your budget, so be transparent in letting them know what you intend to achieve with the money you have. Some of them will try to ask you to increase the price because of a few additions or special customized parts and accessories. It is really up to you if you think that you will be needing such accessories or you can do away with it for the meantime.

Step 3: Estimate your cost.

Factor in the labor cost in terms of man hours, and then have the company provide an overall estimate of the materials that will be used for your roofing project. It is always better to have a total estimated cost before the work is started, so you will not get any surprises in the long run. Many people wonder how to price a roofing job, and this is by far the best way to do it. Asking for discounts will also be beneficial so that you can find the company that will really give you the most value for your money!

Many times homeowners think they will save lots of money by doing everything themselves. This can be true, but it can also be a misleading idea. In the case of hiring a roofing service, it might be the best idea to go ahead and pay for their services. Roofing can be one of the most dangerous things that a contractor can have to do. Many general contractors do not even handle their own roofing and instead hire a subcontractor. They themselves know how to do the work, but a professional roofer will be faster, more efficient, and besides they love to roof or they wouldn’t be doing it in the first place.

Yes, doing things yourself to your home saves labor costs, but when something is as vital as a roof, a foundation, plumbing, or electrical, the margin of error is not large and the expertise needed is great. In these cases the specialized contractors truly earn their money. The roofing service that you call should be knowledgeable in your specific type of roof. If you need a mobile home roof repair for example, you want a company that can come over and do a quick repair job, usually in one day or less.

If your roof is damaged as a result of a storm be sure to check with your insurance company. The damages may be covered by the insurance policy. When an insurance claim is involved very commonly the insurance will only pay if there is a bid provided by a licensed general contractor and also the work is performed by a licensed general contractor. A good roofing service would have all his insurance and also all of the licensing as required by the state. As the job progresses many times progress photos must be taken and turned in for the funds to be released. One roof we did recently required a photo after tear off and then another after it was completed.

Roofing contractors are good with climbing and handling heights. This might not be very important for mobile home roof repair, but it is very important for large slanted roofs. If there are any outside lights that need mounted on the home, this might be a good time to do it. Solar lights are very popular these days and also can be installed without the help of an electrician. Electricians are needed only if you are tying into existing electric lines. Solar lights operate off of sunlight. Some states have as much as 300 plus days of sun per year, so it only makes sense to put it to work for you.

So when your home experiences roof damage hire a professional roofing service. This keeps you from the danger of falling of a roof and also insures that everything is properly installed.

To shade your patio area from the sun you will need two things. Item number one is the awning or cloth itself and item number 2 is the structure to support it.

Awnings can be made of various materials
Mostly any type of thick cloth may be used as an awning. You may even use shade cloth or mesh (like the ones you see used by soldiers) if you don’t want to block out the sun entirely.

Most people prefer to use polyester or acrylic canvass because this material is water-resistant and can be left out in the open. However, since this canvass does not let the water through, you have to push out any water that has collected on it after a downpour. One of the best known types of shades is the Suncamp retractable patio awning.

Awnings attached to the wall
The frame is usually installed onto an external wall of your house and has a device in its outer corners for inserting or attaching the two poles which hold the awnings suspended over the deck. If your awnings are fixed on the wall, you may need to fold them up during a heavy rain and/or wind. If it is not installed correctly, a pool of water may form in it and make it heavy enough to tip it off balance or even rip apart. Otherwise, the wind can blow on it so hard as to pull it off its support.

Smaller awnings are usually attached to the wall fronting the deck or the patio they shade. A pulley mechanism may be used to roll them up when not in use. They may be supported along their sides by a frame of wood or aluminum. In that case, you will have to be able to detach them before they can be rolled up. You can also install automatic retractable sun shades, which are electrically operated.

Non permanent sun shade awnings
Sometimes, people have sun shade awnings that they bring out for occasions only. These are non-permanent and are shaped like a flat tent. They typically have a frame to support the outer edges of the fabric and crossed or parallel ribs in the middle to keep the awning from sagging. The frames are held in place by posts that are put up around its perimeter.
