Different Styles Of Bathrooms
Today, people consider their bathroom as important to decorate as any other room in the house. When people decorate a bathroom oftentimes they will continue the style that they have chosen for other rooms, thus we can find three broad styles of bathroom decor.
1. Classic
2. Contemporary
3. Modern
It might be more appropriate to speak of inspiration rather than a set style, as you will often find different styles side by side in the same bathroom.
Classic bathrooms are inspired from the turn of the previous century. They are comfortable with enameled cast iron sink and bathtub, but they no longer have to be. You can have a footed bathtub, with all the nostalgia of yesteryear, in today’s acrylic modern materials. The sink will be a pedestal sink. In a classic bathroom you will want your floor to fit the style, therefore tile flooring is a must and the tiles should extend to the walls. You are not limited in design as there are many colors and motifs available. Hardware to complement this bathroom will be chrome. Classic bathrooms never go out of style.
Contemporary bathrooms are often larger than average. Many will have a bathtub, a separate shower stall with its own enclosing sometimes made of glass blocks, and two sinks. Storing spaces are numerous in a contemporary bathroom and can be along side other amenities like bath towel warmers or space heaters in modern designs. Contemporary style bathroom floors call for anything from tiles to wood to laminated floors.
A modern bathroom is an upscale bathroom. Often minimalist, these bathrooms call for the latest innovations in materials and creature comforts. This where you will find spas quality tubs, jacuzzis, and rain showers, or laser light showers. Lights will often be equipped with the ability to produce special effects, televisions will be included in the mirrors and relaxing music will be diffused from somewhere you cannot see. These new wave bathrooms are true heavens where one can escape all stress.
