How To Improve The Look Of The Bathroom With A Corner Toilet

Published by at 5:12 pm under Space Saving Ideas

The term corner toilet may be unfamiliar to many.  They are also known as triangular toilets and they have been used widely in the U.K., throughout Europe and in Australia too. While many homeowners in the U.S. have recently changed the bathroom from a utilitarian change up and go room, to almost spa-like proportions, many on the other side of the Atlantic have long recognized the economy in both space and function that these loos provide.

corner toiletWhile corner water closets are primarily popular because their design allows these units to fit into even the tiniest baths, they are now coming into their own as a stylish alternative to the regular size thrones that are found in nearly every home or apartment worldwide.  The formerly plain old white one piece tiny toilet is now being upgraded to truly royal status.

Take this as an example: there are online kitchen/bathroom retailers who feature upscale corner toilet suites.  Yes, you read right, suites of matching corner toilets paired with pedestal sinks and other matching accoutrements. Perhaps one of the most over the top models is a corner tank unit featuring dual flush but also decorative trim on the tank, seat and base that is mint in color and solid 24 Karat gold!

Naturally the price tag for this gem of a corner water closet is not for everyone. If someone has $500-$600 US to spend on this elegant commode, he or she can complete the suite with a matching sink also featuring 24K trim and adding another $200 or so to the price tag. While this is at one end of the price spectrum, there are far more reasonably priced models that also can add a touch of luxury to a small bathroom.

As an example, there is a model known as the Regent Dual Flush Corner toilet and it is actually two pieces, instead on one, which is more common in this type of fixture. While it lacks trim in mint 24K style, it has its own attractive style built in. It features attractive edging on the base of the bowl as well as raised ridges running vertically down the rest of the unit.
