How to Use Black Bedding Sets
Black is a fantastic color in a contemporary home as it makes such a bold statement. In a bedroom, you can use black in a number of ways but your room will be chiefly defined by your choice of black bedding sets. Here are some ways you can use your bedding to create the perfect color scheme for your bedroom.
1. Mix Black with Gray
Choose bedding in a mixture of black and soft gray to take the hard edges off a
solid black color or add a gray throw and silver cushions to a pure black set. You can leave walls in a slightly off-white color and introduce black in other areas such as furniture or flooring. If you want to add a feminine touch to this room scheme you could add accessories in lavender or turquoise blue.
2. Mix Coffee with Black
Black goes very well with all lighter shades of brown. (Do not get too close and veer into almost black chocolate shades however). Buy a bedding ensemble in a mix of cream, coffee and black in a modern geometric pattern to create this look. You can then use cream for walls, beige for flooring (using carpet or wood) and coffee for curtains to tie the room color scheme together.
3. Mix Black with White
Combining black and white allows you to choose classic fabrics and shoot them into the twenty first century, because a black and white plaid, floral pattern or toile print looks great without looking over romantic or feminine yet the harsh nature of black is softened by the inclusion of the second color. Such designs look particularly great with plain white or black furniture.
4. Mix Hot Pink and Black
There are some great bedding designs around these days which are perfect for a teenage girl’s bedroom where a black and white print is edged in hot pink. This gives a lot of scope for using any of the three colors in the bedding in window blinds, rugs and other accessories for a coordinated theme.
