The first thing you will want to make sure you do whenever you use a ladder loft ladderis to make sure the footing is secure. If you are in a position where this isn’t possible such as a case where the ground is at a slope or has a lot of gravel, then what you can do is have someone hold the ladder for you. If you are going to be working alone, make sure you have a cell phone with you near by just in case you happen to fall and can’t move.

The shorter the ladder, the softer the fall will be in general. However, people are a lot more careless when using smaller ladders compared to longer ones. Any type of ladder should be used with caution. Even loft ladders can pose a risk even if it’s self secured.
