There are so many different options when it comes to storage boxes, and you can find them made from all sorts of different materials. They also come in a variety of shapes and colors too.  They are great for storing all kinds of different things and require very little investment.  Here are some ideas for how you can use these boxes around your home.

Plastic boxes really last well, can take a fair bit of daily use and they are perfect for storing those items that do not need to be in plain view.  Because they are available in a lot of different colors it is easy to choose colors that go with your home or room’s color scheme. Alternatively, you can color coordinate the items you are storing by buying red and green boxes for your Christmas decorations, and orange and black for Halloween costumes, for example. Or, if you really do want to be able to see at a glance what is stored in which box, say for kids storage, you can choose see through plastic boxes.  Small boxes kept in the garage are great for keeping all those miscellaneous little handyman supplies such as nails, screws, bolts and nuts. You can even use plastic storage for your keepsakes, such as old school records and year books, or anything that you do not use often but that you want to keep.

Decorative boxes look great and yet they are still extremely useful.  Wicker or cane storage boxes blend in really well with wooden furniture. You can find decorate boxes made from all kinds of material including leather, metal and even ceramic.  As they look great too, they serve a dual purpose in many homes. They are used for storage but are also carefully chosen to enhance a room’s décor. Different ways to use them, include stacking them on top of one another from largest to smallest. They will fit nicely under an end table, small boxes fit nicely on larger shelves or on top of cabinets.  They also add a nice festive look to your home at Christmas time. Choosing a decorative storage box to keep your office supplies in, on your desk, is also a nice way to keep your office space organized and looking great. Of course, they are also wonderful for storing old photos or old paperbacks that you want to keep but are not in good enough condition to leave on your display shelves. You can use them in the kitchen, for odd kitchen items or recipe books.  If you have a hobby, they are also great to use for storing your hobby items.

Photo storage boxes do just what their name implies, they store photos. Even though most people nowadays store their digital photos on their phone or computer, most people have some photos from older days that they want to keep. They may be photos of your parents, or you when you were a child, or perhaps they are wedding or graduation photos.  Whatever they are, you can buy special photo boxes that are made just for storing photos. Some even come with a design on the outside of the box indicating what types of photos are stored inside.  If you want to store photos in a box, make sure that it is made from acid free material. Stored photos can easily discolor, fade or become ruined and that is why it is important to choose a box that is specifically designed for photo storage as it will protect your photos.  Make sure your photo storage box is big enough to store all the different sizes of photos you have as if it is too small you may damage or wrinkle your photos.
