Memories Of Mom And Grandma’s Kitchen

Published by at 5:59 am under Uncategorized

Warm, cozy and cookies or cakes baking are memories of Mom or Grandma’s kitchen. Childhood memories of the kitchen often consist of the family gathering for dinner after school and work. Mom’s used to spend their days making home cooked meals from scratch while their families were off at school and work. In fact the kitchen is still considered to be one of the main rooms of the home, even today in these modern times of both mom and dad working outside the home. Today’s busy schedules often don’t allow enough time for home cooked meals. Today’s modern families run through the drive through on the way home and gather at the kitchen table to eat fast food and discuss their day.

Historically and even now in modern times many men and women entertain in their homes on a regular basis. If they have time women like to spend a day or two preparing the finger foods, soups, main course and desserts so their guests have an enjoyable meal and don’t go home hungry. In order to do this it is important that the kitchen is custom built to meet the needs of the cook so the process preparing the food for a dinner party or family Thanksgiving dinner can be done in as efficient and timely manner as possible.

Modern technology in appliances, kitchen tools and gadgets make cooking much less of a chore compared to the work it took for Moms of the fifties to cook for their families. Today’s cook has the aid of microwaves, convection ovens, self cleaning ovens, and even dishwashers to help make their time in the kitchen a much more enjoyable experience. Technology for the kitchen has also been developed to help protect and keep our environment safe and there for future generations.
