Maybe you are interested in setting up a hydroponic garden at your home, but backed out thinking that the expenditure may be too much. However, every hobby needs a little investment and hydroponic gardening is no different, apart from it, it will give you something in return.  You can make the set up yourself if you want, but you will still have to buy the hydroponic nutrient solution.

A home made hydroponic garden will save money to a great extent and let you enjoy the pleasure of indoor gardening too.

Here is a step by step guide to help you build a simple hydroponic system at your home.

1.    Acquire A Bucket: At the first level you can use a water bucket. It is the easiest and cheapest option to build your own hydroponic system. In addition to the bucket some other simple equipment is required for the whole mechanism. The bucket should be able to hold five gallons of liquid material.

2.    Prepare The Bucket: Wash the bucket with vinegar, soap and water properly. Make some holes with a drill on the side line of the bucket. 6 to 10 holes will do the job.

3.    Prepare For the Medium: If you find that the growing medium does not set properly then you need to make a little window screen on the inside of the bucket. This will stop the medium from falling out. Keep them in your desired place and use some silicon sealant to adhere it with the bucket. Allow the medium to dry.

4.    Add Growing Medium: Before you fill up the bucket with growing medium clean them first. You can wash or soak it according to the type of medium that you have chosen to use for this purpose.

5.    Check The Ph Level: This is a very important factor to consider. To know the right level of pH factor you can consult with any experienced person involved in hydroponics practice.

6.    Add Solution: Add hydroponic nutrient solution to the bucket until the liquid overflows from the hole you have drilled in the bucket. You need to add the solution slowly.

However, it is important to add the best hydroponic nutrient according to the need of the plant. This will help the plants to grow up in a healthy fashion and thrive.
