Simple Tips To Avoid A Full Bathroom Remodel

Published by at 3:38 am under Decorating

Most people are going to be living in their current homes longer than they had anticipated while the housing market builds itself back up, so they’re turning to remodeling what they currently have to improve its value.  Even if you have a large budget for remodeling your home, you can still save a lot of money if you don’t have to go through a full remodel.  This post will show you some steps to take to update your bathroom, instead of tearing the whole thing up, that will save you money and get the results that you’re looking for.

The first step to doing this is figuring what is making your bathroom look like a dungeon or should be on Three’s Company.  Most times, bathrooms are just forgotten artifacts that have seen the rest of the house get updated multiple times and no attention paid to it.  Take the time to take a hard look at what you already have to see what it is that makes it look like it does.

Sometimes a deep and thorough cleaning can make a huge difference in your current bathroom.  I’m not talking about scrubbing the toilets and the sink, I mean taking down the bathroom light fixtures and the shower doors and really cleaning them.  Removing years worth of dust and grime can make a huge difference.

Also, look at updating the stuff that you already have.  Try finding a different bathroomlight setup than you already have, changing out the vanity light fixture can make a bathroom look dozens of years younger.  Even little things like the towel racks and toothbrush holder can use a simple and cheap makeover.  When shopping for stuff like this keep in mind what your bathroom will look like if it gets remodeled so you don’t have to buy everything again, should you make the decision to remodel.

Tearing out a room and replacing everything isn’t always necessary.  Many times you can get away with the stuff that you already have by upgrading and modernizing it.
