The Corner Bathtub Is Still A Place To Relax
A small bathroom doesn’t really limit the choice in bathtubs that you will have when you try to find one to install. Although the actual bathtub sizes are going to be on the small side, and that’s just a practical measure, there are many types available that will help to make the bathroom memorable and modern looking.
In small bathrooms, many people decide that there is only room for a shower recess and don’t bother with a bathtub at all. For families with small children a bathtub is something of a necessity and the fact that it is small is not really an issue. Small corner bathtubs would be a perfectly suitable solution to provide both a shower unit along with a bathtub.
Corner bathtubs are styled and shaped to maximize the small space into
which they are going to be placed into. The shape of the tub itself may be an oval with the corner ledge fitting into the corner itself. Alternatively, the shape of the tub may be more of a flattened kidney shape giving you the most tub possible while still ensuring that there is plenty of floor space remaining in the bathroom.
Unlike the larger bathtubs, corner bathtubs are usually built-in so that every inch of space is used to its full potential. Small differences between tubs are also available giving options such as the placement of the drain which could be in the center of the tub or at either corner. It also possible to get small keyhole bathtubs that provide extra room for sitting back and luxuriating.
When space is particularly tight the answer may well be the smallest possible corner bathtub you can buy. So the question then is: how small do small corner bathtubs get? Around the smallest bathtub you might want to buy would be one measuring 48” long x 48” wide. Any smaller than this and you’re really buying a shower unit that would only be usable in any practical way while standing up.
