Tips For Choosing Kitchen Curtains

Published by at 5:24 pm under Uncategorized

Not many people are focused on their curtains when they enter their kitchen.  More often they are more interested in preparing a meal that will fill their belly.  As weird as it may sound, having the right kitchen curtains can actually help provide a more pleasurable experience by helping you to relax while preparing your delectable meal.  Second only to the bedroom the kitchen ranks as the most intimate room in the house.  Curtains are as much a part of the home’s decor as are kitchen tiles and appliances.  Below are three tips to keep in mind before you invest in any type of kitchen window treatments.

Kitchen Curtain Styles

It’s important to match your curtains with the overall theme of your kitchen kitchen curtainswhether it be contemporary, country, or modern.  Each curtain type will create a different mood in your kitchen as well as give it a unique look.  Coordinate the colors of your curtains with your flooring , cabinets as well as the counter tops.  Decide in advance whether you want the curtains to allow a bunch of sunlight or just a little.  You’re probably going to have these curtains up for awhile so keep the long term perspective in mind.

Kitchen Curtain Length

If you choose a curtain length that is too long you’ll have to deal with a curtain puddle on your counter.  This not only unattractive but the curtains will also become dirty, greasy and dingy.  Make sure the length of the curtains fall just at the base of the window sill as this will keep them clean and allow you to open and close them easily.

Kitchen Curtain Colors

If you’re looking for a modern theme in your kitchen then you can’t go wrong with printed pleat curtains.  Soft colors such as pink, white or light blue are always nice in most any kitchen.  Try to choose colors that don’t overwhelm you when you enter the room or that distract from your decor.  Country kitchen curtains with a checked print pattern are also quite popular if this look suits you.
