Which Cookbook Holder Is Right For Your Kitchen?

Published by at 3:27 am under Uncategorized

Cookbook holders are a pretty simple invention, but there are some big differences between them that determine which will work best in your kitchen.  There are tons of different ways to get the pages of your cookbook to stay open, but holders have become the norm because of their simplicity and the ways that they protect your precious books from damage.  In this post I want to take a look at  a few different types to help you determine which is going to work best in your kitchen.

The standard counter top cookbook holder is the most common.  These hold your books open and upright so that you can easily see the recipe that you’re cookbook holdercooking.  Some of the newer models have adjustable backs that will fit any size cookbook, from the large Joy of Cooking all the way down to a recipe on a sheet of paper.  Another helpful feature that many of these have is a clear plastic sheet that goes in front of the pages to protect it from sauce splattering on the pages, this is a very helpful feature if you’re a messy cook.  The biggest downside to these is that they take up a lot of counter space.  If counter space in your kitchen is minimal, you probably won’t get much use because it won’t fit.  Many do fold up or break down for easy storage.

If you don’t have much space on your counter, look in to under cabinet cookbook holders.  These are designed to be mounted to the underside of your kitchen cabinets and fold out only when you need them.  Once you’re finished, you fold it back and it’s gone.  They take up no counter space, so they work perfect in tiny kitchens.  Be careful that you don’t install these near your stove because the heat and steam will melt the binding on your cookbooks!

A cookbook holder is a great piece of kitchen gadgetry.  It’s almost a necessity for someone who loves to cook and collect cookbooks.  Get the one that works best for your kitchen so that you can actually use it!
