Why I love temporary window blinds
If you’ve just taken the plunge and moved to a whole new house, expenses are going to be tight. Chances are that you won’t be able to afford to buy all the cool things that you want for your new house; the kind of things that make it look perfect, just right for you. Or, equally possible – you’ve spent all your design money on some fancy new rug, or statue, and you can’t afford some of the basics that you need.
One of the most important basic pieces of furniture for any house are window blinds. The problem is, the bigger your house, the more windows it has – and the more blinds you need to cover all those windows. And that all costs money. Lots of it. If you were to purchase normal window coverings like magic blinds or another type, you would spend a whole whack of cash.
So, if you’re in a bind, and you really don’t want people staring in through
your windows as they walk past, and you really don’t want to be dazzled by the morning sun at 5am when you really should be fast asleep, the simple, and cheap, solution is to go out and buy yourself some temporary paper window blinds. These binds are a brilliant new concept – because they’re made out of paper they cost virtually nothing, and can be hung in moments. They’re durable enough to last a year or more, if you’re reasonably careful, yet cheap enough that you can bin them after a few weeks of use, once you’ve purchased some real, permanent blinds or curtains.
And when I say cheap, I mean really cheap. A single paper blind, bought online from the manufacturer should cost you less than $10. That’s one window covered for 10 bucks. Every window in a small apartment can be covered for no more than $50 (and probably less), and every window in a big house can be covered for between $100 and $150. Now just you try and tell me that this isn’t great value!
