Nobody likes to clean a pool. You know those pool boys you hear about that come out to clean your pool once a week, known for seducing… ok we won’t go there but even those guys HATE cleaning pools. The reason is because it’s a slow process that requires time and patience, which frankly none of us truly have. That’s why the great people of this nation (I’m talking about engineers) decided they had enough of cleaning pools and wanted to make some money. So they said “I wish we could just have a robot clean our swimming pools” and then the Robotic Pool Cleaner was born!

Okay I’m sure it didn’t really happen that way but let’s face it, robotic pool cleaners are great for so many reasons. Do you own a Roomba? Do you know what a Roomba is? If you don’t, a Roomba is a robot made by iRobot that vacuums the floor in your house. I had a chance to see this little guy in action and I was floored (pun intended). It rolls around on the ground vacuuming all by itself but it doesn’t go upstairs. Well let me tell you about robots when it comes to pool care, they do go up stairs!

Imagine plugging in a robot and dropping it in your pool, and one to two hours later you have a perfectly cleaned pool and you didn’t have to pay a pool boy to do it for you (and you probably saved your marriage). By far one of the best things about robotic pool cleaners is that they are energy efficient. They don’t even require your pool system to be running to operate, and they only need to be connected to a standard outlet. So plug it in and drop it in, that’s how you use a robotic pool cleaner.
